How we work

Your technical team until you hire your own.

You own the company, the code and the cap table the whole time. We work on the product, the fundraise or both, and hand over to your own team when you’re ready.

Ownership

Everything is yours from the first commit.

Repositories, domains, cloud accounts and IP are in your company's name from day one. There's nothing to transfer at the end, and nothing we could hold back.

It also answers a question investors often ask when an outside team built the product: who in the company understands it? By the time they ask, your own engineer will be in place.

How we run a build

What to expect from us.

Just the two of us

You work directly with the people writing the code. There are no account managers, and no juniors learning on your budget.

Milestones you can stop at

If the work stops making sense for you, you can end it cleanly at the next milestone.

Progress you can use

We measure progress by what’s running, such as technical setup, an MVP or first paying users, rather than by hours logged.

Tools you can hire for

We build on tools your future team will know and can live with, even when something else would be quicker for us.

Written down as we go

Decisions, runbooks and architecture notes go into your repository while we work, so handover doesn’t become its own project.

A planned handover

We help you hire your first engineer. A buyout is the normal way our work ends, and it means things went well.

Who we work with

A few companies at a time.

We often carry the cost of a build for a year or more, so we keep our list short and choose carefully.

  • You’re building software, and the product is central to the business.
  • You can sell, to customers, to investors or to both.
  • You can see a route to revenue or a funding round within 12 to 18 months.
  • You want technical partners who care how the company does.
